Maria Beckmann

Maria Beckmann is a Mexican multidisciplinary designer, specialized in interior architecture, furniture, and lamp design.  Her furniture work is composed mainly by a combination of wood and leather and/or hand made textiles, specially customizing each piece for each unique space. She additionally has her own lamp collection made of solid copper and brass, handmade in Mexico, called DUMO.
 
Maria has worked at Bauhauss Mexico and Legorreta Architects. As an independent designer she has collaborated with Legorreta Architects, Serrano Monajaraz Architects, Ignacio Urquiza Architects, and created spaces for Archipiélago mx, Joselo cafe, amongst other offices and private houses.
Her coat stand “core” was selected as one of the iconic Mexican pieces in the last 50 years for the exhibition of Fabrica Mexicana, contemporary industrial design at MAM (museo de arte moderno). Her most current project is designing lodge resorts at Valle de Bravo where she currently resides.
