Edoardo Cozzani
Edoardo Cozzani is an Italian multimedia artist working across sculpture, photography, and site-specific installation. His process moves between action and reaction—setting the conditions for something to happen, stepping back to observe, and reshape, then starting over again.
Forms are developed through interaction rather than imposition.
Drawing from physics, alchemy, and philosophy, his practice engages with a time when magic and science overlapped, and observation and interpretation were not used to establish absolute truths. Speculation was accepted as a way to make sense of the forces at work. He operates within this ambiguity, using material research and process to construct metaphors that evoke both ancient and contemporary ways of understanding the world.
Materials carry different meanings. Stone and landscapes are solid and ancient. They are made by the passing of time. Glass, fiberglass, and aluminum are new, they feel alien, they move differently—lighter, more fluid, easier to bend, stretch, and take on other forms.
When they come together, things begin to blur. The manmade starts to resemble the natural. Earthly forms are interrupted, reshaped.
What emerges is an ambiguous balance—weight and lightness, solid and fluid, artifact and artifice. Edoardo’s work inhabits this space, where the synthetic and the natural coexist, held in tension, in an ongoing negotiation that allows each to inform the other.
