Luke Crouch Studio

Luke Crouch is an Australian artist and designer creating collectible furniture
from his studio in Tasmania's Central Highlands. Working directly with solid
Australian hardwood, he carves and constructs each piece himself using
traditional hand tools and timber joinery. His practice explores the tension
between botanical forms, architectural structure and the raw character of
wood. Leaves and blooms become sculptural seats and backrests, while
carved tables extend this language through mass, proportion and asymmetry. Grain, tool marks and subtle irregularities give each work an individual identity, bringing the intimacy of the handmade into objects with a commanding sculptural presence.
